This work-in-progress reports on a critical inquiry into sensemaking and community-based climate action literature. We assess the relevance and generative potential of sensemaking perspectives and explore related literature to identify concepts and frameworks that problematize and extend sensemaking as the basis for a nascent collaborative project with libraries engaged in local climate initiatives.
