Everyday Inclusion wiith Racialized Youth in Public Libraries

Abstract

This paper describes findings from a research project about Racialized youth experiences of belonging and inclusion in public library spaces. It highlights the themes of safety, accessibility, representation, and agency that emerged from interviews, observations, and surveys. We will also describe a co-design process that engaged Racialized youth as well as ongoing initiatives to make public libraries more welcoming to diverse groups of teens.
